ASID-IL Honors Influential Designers through Design Excellence Awards

An interior designer with a background in advertising and marketing communications, Susan Brunstrum collaborates with residential clients to create personalized interiors as the principal of Studio Brunstrum. In 2003, Susan Brunstrum founded the business under the name Sweet Peas Design and rebranded in 2018. Studio Brunstrum has received numerous accolades from clients and professional groups such as the American Society of Interior Designers - Illinois Chapter (ASID-IL).

ASID-IL promotes the best interests of designers, students, and businesses across Illinois while upholding the organization’s goal of advancing the interior design profession. In addition, the organization emphasizes how design affects the human experience and recognizes Chicago-based firms that contribute to a positive impact in this regard through the annual Design Excellence Awards. The program celebrates the work of the state’s registered interior designers and members of ASID-IL and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Illinois chapter.

Awards are distributed to firms in more than 25 categories, ranging from New Product Innovation and Contract Projects Under 3,000 SF to Universal Design and Showcase Space.

The recipients are publicly recognized during the Celebration of Design and Design Excellence Awards each year. At the September 2018 awards celebration, ASID-IL honored Studio Brunstrum in the Singular Space category. This is the fourth consecutive year that Studio Brunstrum has been recognized for outstanding design as the firm received awards in 2015, 2016 and 2017 as well.
